DESCRIPTION:

WISERDEX® is Dexamethasone, a synthetic glucocorticoid. The Dexamethasone is a crystalline to practically white, odorless powder. Insoluble in water and slightly soluble in alcohol. The molecular weight of Dexamethasone is 392.47. It is designated chemically as  9-fluoro-11β, 17, 21 triphdroxy-16α -methylpregna-1,4-diene-3,20-dione.

ACTION MECHANISMS
WISERDEX® properties, being a synthetic glucocorticoid, used mainly for its strong anti-inflammatory and immune suppressant effect. The Dexamethasone like all the glucocorticoids produce intense and variable metabolic effects and modifies the immunological answer of the organism after multiple stimuli.

THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS
Multiple myeloma: WISERDEX®  is Dexamethasone; a glucocorticoid that when it´s used as monotherapy in the multiple myeloma treatment has an index of answer of 45%, nevertheless more recent studies have demonstrated than when it is used the combined scheme of Dexamethasone and Thalidomide has been observed an index of answer of 65-70%. Also it can be combined with other drugs for the treatment.
